Here’s what to include in your application:

Cover letter

This letter is a way of introducing yourself to the selection panel and should include your full name, address, daytime telephone number and the title of the position you are applying for. It should also include why you are interested in the position and a summary of your skills and experience that meet the selection criteria.

Resume

Provide an up-to-date resume that includes:

• Personal details: name, address, contact numbers and email address. Education: your university, school and or any other training or licences and qualifications
• Employment history: each employer’s name, period of employment, position title including duties and responsibilities
• References: a minimum of two recent work-related references, with contact phone numbers
• Additional information: supporting material such as certificates/licences (please don’t send originals).

Selection criteria

Our advertised vacancies will each have a position description. Within the this is the selection criteria. Please address each of the criteria individually, with a brief paragraph outlining your relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge, showing how you meet each criterion.

Our recruitment process

1. Development of the position description
This document outlines responsibilities, duties, skills and the selection criteria. The selection criteria consist of the qualifications, licences and experience required, and the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake the duties effectively.

2. Advertising the job
Our positions are advertised in a range of media, including local and regional newspapers, our website and on recruitment websites.

3. Shortlisting
All applicants will be advised by email that we have received their application. Short-listing involves assessing applications against the selection criteria and selecting the most suitable applicants to interview.

4. Interviews
A panel of three will conduct the interview, asking a series of questions relating to the selection criteria.

5. Pre-employment checks
Reference checks are undertaken for the preferred candidates. Referees will only be contacted with your consent.

6. Letter of offer
Once a decision is made, the successful applicant will be offered the position verbally, supported by a written offer outlining employment details.

7. Unsuccessful applicants
Once the selection process has been completed, all unsuccessful applicants will be notified.
